We have developed an innovative technological platform that detects, monitors, and intervenes non-intrusively with older adults, with the primary goal of preventing the onset of disability.
The platform is backed by findings from multiple funded research projects and our team’s extensive experience of over 30 years in geriatrics, frailty, functional decline, engineering, biomedical technology, and business development.
The platform combines sensors, Artificial Intelligence, and personalized interventions to enhance the health and autonomy of older adults. By offering continuous monitoring and bridging the gap between professionals and support networks, it provides a comprehensive approach to addressing unmet needs.
MG Biomed is a company dedicated to technological innovation for the prevention of frailty and disability in older adults.
Its mission is to monitor intrinsic capacity—physical, mental, and psychological—from the home, offering personalized interventions that enhance quality of life and autonomy for seniors.
The company integrates all key stakeholders: patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, specialists, and nurses.
MG Biomed originated as a joint research project between the Geriatrics Department of the Getafe University Hospital and the AgeingLab at the Center for Biomedical Technology of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.
The project’s founding team was spearheaded by Dr. Leocadio Rodríguez Mañas, a renowned authority on frailty, and Dr. Rodrigo Pérez Rodríguez.
